Jay Z, Beyoncé, & Nicki Minaj Own Brooklyn At Tidal X Concert (Recap)

To everyone’s surprise, Fabulous brought out JAY Z—who wasn’t expected to come out so early—to rap his verse from the 2007 cut. Enthralled by the sight of Hov, fans quickly threw up their Roc signs to signify their allegiance. JAY fed off the energy of the crowd and performed more records, most notably “Where I’m From” and “You Don’t Know.” The surprises didn’t stop there. As JAY jumped into his next track “Hello Brooklyn,” Lil Wayne leaped on-stage to rap his throwback verse. At this point, the fans were at the hands of the artists and were willing to oblige to anything. A super-engerized Wayne performed “No Worries” and left the stage for his artist Nicki Minaj to take over.

In terms of performances, Nicki Minaj toppled her male contemporaries. She delivered sharp performances of “Truffle Butter,” “Moment For Life,” and her Beyonce-assisted record “Feeling Myself.” When Beyoncé walked on-stage to give Nicki a helping hand for their infectious collaboration, the venue erupted. Girls clamored for more from Beyoncé in hopes that she would dip deep into her illustrious catalog and provide her fans with a sampler. Instead, Beyoncé provided a mesmerizing performance over JAY Z’s “Holy Grail” and allowed her husband to conclude the show with “Empire State of Mind.”

Even though fans weren’t able to fully enjoy the performances because of the time constraints, JAY Z’s star power and influence proved to be impeccable, as he was able to bring in grade A artists to appease his loyal fanbase.
