Good news for NBA YoungBoy: last week, the judge presiding over the rapper’s current legal case made the decision not to revoke YoungBoy’s probation. Instead, YoungBoy has been ordered to undergo counseling, complete community service work at the New Orleans Mission, complete a domestic abuse program, and have a GPS monitor installed.
In addition to these requirements, YoungBoy Never Broke Again will have to enroll in a G.E.D. program, avoid places like bars and clubs, and will not be permitted to travel outside the state of Louisiana or post on social media for the next six months. The only travel outside of Louisiana that he is cleared for is to attend any court hearings he has in Atlanta. Details on whether or not somebody else can post on social media for him remain unclear.

This is the latest chapter in NBA YoungBoy’s legal battle that came to a head a little over a month ago, when he was arrested on charges relating to an incident where he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, Jania Jackson. The alleged assault took place in a hotel in Waycross, Georgia, where security footage captured a grisly scene of what seems to be abusing his girlfriend in the hallway of the hotel.
When cops showed up, YoungBoy and the girl were gone, but bloodstains were found upon inspection of the room they had been staying in. He was arrested later that night in Tallahassee, Florida, right before he was scheduled to perform at The Moon nightclub. At the time he was arrested, YoungBoy had been on probation for his involvement in a non-fatal drive-by shooting that occurred in 2016. You can read more about his arrest and the shooting in an article here.

YoungBoy’s next probation assessment is scheduled to be on May 18. In the interim, his debut studio album, titled Until Death Call My Name is scheduled to be released. Originally set to drop on March 5, the album’s new release date has now been scheduled for April 27. A collaboration mixtape between YoungBoy and Birdman, titled From The Bayou, was scheduled to drop March 22, but there hasn’t been any sign of its actual release.
