Minnesota Timerwolves Head Coach Flip Saunders Dies From Cancer At 60

On Sunday morning, Minnesota Timberwolves President and Head Coach, Phil “Flip” Saunders, died of cancer. He was 60.

During his 35 years of coaching, Saunders spent his time on the sidelines with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Detroit Pistons, and Washington Wizards. Saunders was an accomplished coach whose astuteness for the game was loved and admired. He led the Timberwolves to eight consecutive playoff appearances and helped mold former MVP Kevin Garnett.

Saunders is survived by his four children and wife.
