Rihanna is leaving long time label Def Jam Records for Jay-Z’s Roc Nation. The ‘Diamonds’ singer isn’t going out empty handed. While at Def Jam, she recorded seven albums and topped the charts worldwide with countless number one hits.
Rihanna can now claim Jay- Z, J. Cole, Calvin Harris, DJ Mustard, Jay Electronica, and Rita Ora as label mates.
Def Jam will continue to market, promote and distribute her music. Billboard reports Def Jam recently met with the singer to discuss her plans, while an official announcement on her next album is expected to be made “soon.”
Jay-Z can now take full control of the pop princess’s career he successfully launched.
