The 2000s kept the trend of denigrating rap going. The rappers with less overt and, in some instances, positive messages – Nas, Luda, Mos Def, Common – are all but gone. This made room for the Lil Waynes of the world who talk about the most private of activities in the most descriptive ways possible.
