The leader and frontman of Public Enemy was Chuck D. His candor was beloved by hip hop purists. He unabashedly spoke the truth on records like “Fight the Power.” Because of his lyricism, he’s been considered as one of the premier emcees in rap. Chuck has taken more of a political stance as he’s on the board of the TransAfrica Forum, which helps for the rights of Africans and Caribbean people.
