The death of J Dilla still weighs heavy on his loved ones, as well as hip hop as a whole community, but his legacy continues to live on through his classic beats. The super producer gave us some of that “classical” hip hop sound throughout the 90’s and 2000’s, just before his tragic death in 2006. He’s catered to the beats of the likes of Common, Slum Village, Mos Def, and plenty more, and we have to thank him for all that he has contributed to our ears.
