Our latest 15 Minutes of Fame installment comes from the Atlanta native Leland Austin better known as Yung LA, once affiliated with T.I.’s Grand Hustle Records. LA was founded by other label mate Young Dro who brought LA to T.I. and the rest is history.

After gaining the attention of T.I. in 2008, LA was well on his way to stardom with signing as a solo artist contract to Grand Hustle, but furnished through Interscope records. LA released his first single called “Ain’t I” which featured fellow label mates T.T. & Young Dro. The song peaked at #4 on Billboards Hot Rap Songs and would sell certified platinum and it ended with only that song. (He would release other records and mixtapes but it didn’t garner the same success as “Ain’t I”.) LA would eventually be dropped from Grand Hustle/Interscope imprint and, now, is currently signed to Zaytown USA.
