Multi-talented entertainer Nicki Minaj is headed to the small screen! The rapper/singer/actress will be executive producing her own show for the ABC Family network. The sitcom, which is set to air next year, will be based on Minaj’s life growing up in Queens, New York. Nicki Minaj, who was originally born in Trinidad and Tobago, came to New York as a young child. Although she had a pretty turbulent childhood, the show plans on shedding a comedic light on her life story.

Nicki Minaj seems to be excited about her new venture into the television sitcom world. She recently stated about the show: “This is one of the more unique adventures I’ve ever embarked on, I couldn’t be more proud and excited to team up with an amazing group of people to give the world something really special.” Nicki Minaj’s new series will be written by Kate Angelo, the same woman who penned 2014’s Sex Tape movie which starred Cameron Diaz.
