With a plethora of cops viciously attacking African Americans as of late, this shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. Los Angeles Rams Running Back and former Auburn star, Tre Mason, was tasered and arrested Saturday night, in Hollywood, Florida for a myriad of reasons. According to the Hollywood Police Department, Mason was slapped with charges ranging from suspicion of possession of marijuana, reckless driving, failure to register a motor vehicle and resisting arrest.

Tre — the son of hip hop pioneer Maseo, from the group De La Soul — was reportedly giving the cops a hard time when he was asked to identify himself. The arresting officer said that Mason reeked of marijuana and even smiled when he was asked to fork over his driver’s license. Mason refused to give in and braced himself tightly in his car, even though the cops told him that they were preparing to arrest him. The cops subdued Tre by tasering him, after they warned him that they would do so if he failed to comply.

“The defendant was warned several times in a composed voice to stop resisting, exit the vehicle and if he did not comply with arrest, a Taser would be used,” the arresting officer said in his report. Mason was taken to a local hospital after he was tasered to receive medical clearance. We can only wonder what Maseo is thinking of his son’s latest arrest. SHARE with your friends.
