The case of To Pimp A Butterfly
[above3]
Kendrick Lamar delivered one of the most ground-breaking projects of the last decade with To Pimp A Butterfly, and it’s gone on to be a Grammy Award-winning album. When it was first released last March, however, fans and bloggers immediately deemed it a classic before it even had a month of digestion from the music community. Despite the fact that it went on to impact music executives, #BlackLivesMatter, and even the President, no one knew that it would have that effect when it was first released and being deemed a “classic.” It’s just pure luck it turned out that way.
