Yes people…Drake Vs. Lil Wayne is finally gonna happen, but not in the way most would probably like to see it go down.
Lil Wayne told the MTV news cameras that he and his Young Money superstar artist, Drake, would embark on a tour titled Drake Vs Lil Wayne.
He said the onstage antics would live up to the name of the tour stating to MTV News:
“Since, thank god we’ve been so successful, [we’ll just be] going back and forth with our hits and getting the crowd to go crazy, then just finally hit the stage together. It’s a battle type thing.”
Chiming in on who he thinks will win the battle, he joked “I give the good guy the edge.”
Entertainment Weekly first spoke about this tour back in June:
“Today, Drake and Lil Wayne announced their joint tour “Drake vs. Lil Wayne,” which will visit 31 cities in the U.S. and kicks off on August 8th in Darien, New York. This is first time that the two YMCB labelmates will top a bill together,” they reported.
Billboard Magazine has also spoken about the upcoming tour:
“The Drake Vs. Lil Wayne tour, which will stop through 31 cities, will run through September 27, ending in Woodlands, Texas at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. While a release date has yet to be announced for Lil Wayne’s “Tha Carter V,” let’s hope he previews some new music alongside Drake. Tickets will go on sale Friday, June 20 through Live Nation.”
I’m sure this should be huge considering these are two of the biggest in the game right now.
Will it touch the #’s of the Jay Z/Beyonce On The Run tour? Highly doubtful but we shall see.
