Drake is arguable one of the biggest stars in music, this includes any genre, and in any era. He is not only the fourth highest streaming artist of last year, he also still holds the record for the most Hot 100 Billboard entries for any artist with 208. It’s hard to deny his impact in any shape, form, or fashion. Lil Wayne signed Drake to his Young Money imprint in 2009. He must’ve had no clue that in just over a decade, his signee would be buying $85 million dollar estates, and owning $200 million dollar private jets. However, this is the reality for the 32 year old Aubrey “Drake” Graham.
From actor to SUPERSTAR
The rapper/actor originally became known for playing the character Jimmy Brooks on the television series Degrassi: The Next Generation. The show was very popular among teenagers in the early 2000’s. He always maintained that even during his days of being on the television show, his real passion was always his music. This is where Jas Prince, son of music mogul J Prince, steps into the picture. Legend has it Drake and Jas Prince became friends and Prince got Drake’s demo into the hands on Lil Wayne, and the rest is history.
His first studio album, Thank Me Later, released on June 15, 2010. The second studio album, Take Care, was released on November 15, 2011. The third studio album, Nothing Was The Same was released on September 24, 2013. His forth mixtape, If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late Was Released February 13 2015. He even sometimes does collaborative projects as he did on his forth studio album, What A Time To Be Alive, with rapper Future.
Drake’s new Hair-Do
Drake has had a very solid, successful music career thus far with even more #1 albums than the aforementioned five we spoke of. However, this article isn’t about his music or career, its about his new hair-do. Just recent, the rapper posted pictures on his social media donning straight back cornrows. The internet seems to have mixed reactions about the rappers new wig. We think it’s kind of fresh. What do you guys think of Drake’s new hairstyle.
