The ever polarizing figure formerly known as Kanye West has again used his Instagram page to express his disdain. But this time, the target was an unexpected one to say the least. Ye had a message for his one time close friend and frequent collaborator, Kid Cudi. He seemingly let Cudi and the world know that he would not be featured on his upcoming, highly anticipated Donda 2 album. The two have collaborated many, many times in the past and have even released a joint album titled, “Kid’s See Ghosts” in 2020.
Its alleged that the two met in 2006 while both record shopping at a Virgin Megastore in NYC. Cudi also told SPIN magazine that the two would later bump heads at a Bape clothing store where Cudi was employed. Ye would later go on to be a mentor for Kid Cudi. Kanye and Kid Cudi would write and reference songs together; and Cudi would even go on to sign to Ye’s G.O.O.D. music imprint in 2007.

At one point the duo seemed almost inseparable. Kanye would even mention Cudi as “one of the most influential artist of the past 10 years”, during a tour stop in 2016. Although they have had their issues in the past, the respect between the two has always remained evident. Whether it was Ye’ claiming to have ‘birthed’ Cudi, or Cudi claiming Kanye ‘could never be the GOAT’ with 30 people writing for him, they always seemed to be able to reconcile. What about now?
According to PEOPLE magazine, Cudi would take to Twitter to add more to the topic. He had this to say.
Kid Cudi didn’t take being removed from Donda 2 very lightly as he took to also took to IG to address the situation. The 38 year old rapper would respond to Kanye’s handwritten dismissal with a hilarious rebuttal of his own. “Too bad I don’t wanna be on your album you fu—ing dinosaur, everyone knows I been the best thing to happen to your albums since I met you.” Cudi wrote in the comments of @commentsbycelenbs IG page.
Will we see Kanye and Kid Cudi collaborate again?
This all seems to be happening because Cudi allegedly remains friendly with Kanye West’s estranged wife’s new boo, SNL star and comedian Pete Davidson. Davidson has been on the receiving end of a few shots taken by Ye West recently with the last one coming on a song titled “City Of Gods”. Kanye doesn’t seem to be taking the split from his ex too well as he hasn’t seemed to be able to move on despite being linked to multiple women since they split. One, Chaney Jones, even bares and uncanny resemblance to Kim K.
C’mon Mr. West. Were all rooting for you. You gotta get it together sir. And what the heck is “Billie Language?”
