With a bevy of detractors taking swings at his potential downfall dating back to his 2011 Draft Day selection, he has proven all of them wrong. Of course, some of his pundits didn’t see the talent Carolina and others saw in the elusive quarterback. Of course, Twitter was able to dig up some tweets from some very notable sports journalists who once slammed Cam and called for his downfall.

In 2010, Matt Miller said the following on his Twitter: “to answer a question that’s been blowing up my inbox: Cam Newton is not an NFL QB. At all. Great athlete. Heisman contender. That’s all.”
CBS’ Pete Prisco pondered on the magic of Christian Ponder and not Cam Newton. “After breaking down Christian Ponder and Cam Newton on tape, I would take Ponder over Newton. That’s just me.”
