Hip-hop is anxiously waiting for the NWA biopic Straight Outta Compton to drop this summer. O’Shea Jackson Jr, the lyricist’s son, was casted to play his father. The movie star, producer, and rapper broke down the experience of watching his offspring groom into an actor exclusively to Yahoo. Cube described the once in a lifetime chance: “I’m living the ultimate dream as a producer, as an artist, and as a father.”

In addition, O’Shea Jr was driven to do his father’s impact on hip-hop culture justice.
“It got to a point where I didn’t want to see anyone else play him, it would’ve killed me to see someone else play him,” the younger Jackson said. “So it became an obsession to get this part.”
