Entertainers, celebrities, sports figures, and personalities alike all have a certain sense of influence over our decisions whether we believe it or not. So much that brands use them all the time to market to our sponge like minds and, before we know, it we’ve either bought or engaged with what’s been marketed to consumers.

In a recent commercial called “The Quest” staring LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love, LeBron is depicted as Moses leading his “clan” to the promise land. In the promo, the three NBA all-stars take to lead their supporters behind that calling and deliver Cleveland its first championship.
Produced by TNT, the commercial is in support of the 2015-2016 NBA season, which is set to kick off later this month. Also driving awareness for the season, The Clippers’ Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Paul Pierce, and DeAndre Jordan as well as the Rockets’ James Harden and Dwight Howard all have their own spots, just as unique as this one.

Although this is just a commercial, do you think there was a reason LeBron was casted as Moses? Do you think it’s a subconscious play on the fact that he has just as much influence and clout as the GOAT of all time, Michael Jordan, or do you think it’s a funny coincidence?
