It’s official: former Destiny’s Child member and singer Kelly Rowland is set to join the cast of the popular Fox drama Empire next season! The singer will be joining a list of celebrities who have previously starred on the show including Jennifer Hudson, Estelle, Mary J. Blige and others. In addition to Kelly Rowland, Common, Chris Rock, Lenny Kravitz, and Alicia Keys will also be joining the Empire cast for its second season.

Kelly Rowland will reportedly be playing Luscious Lyon’s (played by actor Terrence Howard) mother. We’ll see Miss Rowland in flashback scenes with Terrence Howard on the show. This shouldn’t be too farfetched for Kelly Rowland since she recently gave birth to her first child back in June of 2014. This should make for an interesting season. We can’t wait to see Kelly Rowland do her thing on the small screen!
