Lakers president, Rob Pelinka & Nets GM Sean Marks had a meeting at the NBA Draft Lottery, per Adam Zagoria.
In this meeting, Marks may have wished Kyrie Irving was more consistently available, while on the other hand, Pelinka might’ve preferred Russell Westbrook take a night off here and there. With Brooklyn refusing to give Irving the long term deal he wants, he could potentially seek a new team. Nick Wright believes a blockbuster Kyrie Irving-Russell Westbrook trade would suit both the LA Lakers and Brooklyn Nets. Some believe Westbrook may be “open to a reunion” with his longtime friend/rival Kevin Durant.

Although this trade isn’t quite official, the word is buzzing around NBA insiders. What seems to complicate this potential trade, according to ESPN columnist, Adrian Wojnarowski, is Kevin Durant will leave the Nets this summer if they don’t re-sign Kyrie Irving.
According to Woj, Kevin Durant and the Nets front office haven’t spoken since getting swept and things will get ugly if they don’t agree to an extension with Kyrie.

Bleacher Report proposed an interesting trade idea between the Nets & Lakers that would send Kevin Durant to LA. Could you imagine Durant and James on the same team. That would just be unfair for the rest of the league.
