Freddie Gibbs and Benny The Butcher had largely gone unnoticed until recently. Now, things are just getting hotter between the two rappers.
The Griselda MC revealed the animosity between the two rappers during an interview on Spotify Greenroom’s Most Necessary. In the interview, Benny said his collaborative relationship with Gibbs “came and went”. He referred to the collaborations “Frank Lucas” and “One Way Flight.”
Freddie Gibbs Responds To Benny’s Comments
Freddie Gibbs retaliated on Instagram after hearing about Benny’s comments on Thursday (March 24). “‘Working with Freddie Gibbs came and went, N-gga said.” He responded, “I know some other shit that came and gone too, n-gga,” referring to Benny’s jewelry that was taken in Houston.
“Just keep my name out y’all mouth, man, when y’all talking to people who are doing interviews and shit. Just say ‘next question, man. I don’t want to talk about that n-gga, man.’ Just say ‘next muthafucking question.’ For real.”
After their deteriorating relationship made headlines on Friday (March 25), the one time colleagues exchanged veiled shots on social media throughout the weekend.
Benny The Butcher Replies To Freddie
Benny The Butcher tweeted on Friday evening. He said, “I never seen these n-ggas tough anywhere but on the internet,” presumably in response to Freddie Gibbs’ response to his “came and went” comments.
“Shout out my Houston n-ggaz,” Gibbs tweeted the next day, referring to the city where Benny was shot in the leg during a robbery attempt in November 2020.
Benny ratcheted up the drama by alleging that Gibbs “begged” him to perform a collaborative album with him on Sunday (March 27). In a recent interview with Apple Music’s Ebro Darden, the Buffalo, New York native teased about the project in 2020, but stated it “probably won’t” materialize.
How can u hate on a nigga u begged to do an album with…TT4 OUT NOW !!!

He tweeted, “How can u hate on a n-gga you wanted to do an album with…TT4 OUT NOW!!!”
Freddie Gibbs responded with a series of Instagram Stories, denying Benny’s claim of “begging” and accusing him of creating a quarrel to promote his new album.
“N-ggaz’ entire record marketing strategy revolves around a feud with Freddie Gibbs. “That’s cute,” Freddie wrote, before adding, “Just be appreciative if u opened for me previously.”
“Why would I beg a n-gga to work alongside me when he does less than me?” he wrote in subsequent posts. Just get the Drake verse cleared next time and you don’t have to do all this for promo,” Gibbs said, referring to Benny’s yet-to-be-released collaboration with the OVO hitmaker.
“Head up fade solve everything,” he continued. But you n-ggaz don’t have the balls to sit in a room with me for 5 minutes.”
“I ain’t mad cuz I know they just doing it for promotion,” Gangsta Gibbs stated on Twitter. They’re fucked. We can’t be loved by everyone.” Benny The Butcher has yet to elaborate on the subject.
Beef Taking New Dimension
The enmity between Freddie Gibbs and Benny The Butcher, as previously reported, appears to have been simmering for some time. “It be hard for me to listen to n-ggaz after they been robbed,” Gibbs tweeted in September, months after Benny’s Houston shooting.
Don’t forget, Gibbs posted an unwelcome tweet in October. He wrote, “n-ggaz don’t put the places they was robbed in on the tour dates.” Gibbs posted it after Benny announced his Burden of Plugs tour, which included a gig in Austin but not Houston.
In December, Benny was the one who started the Twitter teasing when he posted a series of sobbing face emojis hours after Gibbs supposedly caught the fade from Jim Jones at Miami’s Prime 112.
