This is why I say that hip-hop has done more damage to young African-Americans than racism in recent years. This is exactly the wrong message.

Although this is the first time Geraldo has critiqued Kendrick, it’s not the first time he’s made this statement. Back in February, during an interview with The Huffington Post, Geraldo said:
Hip-hop has done more damage to black and brown people than racism in the last 10 years. When you find the youngster – a Puerto Rican from the South Bronx of a black kid from Harlem who has succeeded in life other than being the one-tenth of one-tenth of one percent that make it in the music business – that’s been a success in life walking around his ass and with visible tattoos…it is this whole ethos.

We here at HHMW couldn’t agree less that hip hop has done more damage to black and brown people than racisim in the past 10 years. If anything rap music more-so promotes a “glamourous” lifestyle that most urban kids aspire to live. Do you agree?
Mr. Rivera, please STFU and know that you’re wrong and it’s ok, because everything’s “…gon’ be alright”
