90s Ghetto Fabulous
Gangster Wear
Oversized plaid shirts, Dickies, and baseball caps came onto the scene brought by west coast rappers like N.W.A and Snoop Dogg (check out his serious flannel in his ‘Who Am I’ video)
A different tribute to the gangster lifestyle emerged out of the east coast, which included more mafia influences like flashy clothes and bling lots of bling. While people looked at these styles, there wasnt need for a double-breasted suit on the corner. The west coast rendition of gangster won out with fans and more starter jackets and baseball caps were found on kids all over the United States than ever before.
