Kelis Debuts Baby Belly at Afropunk Festival loses her husband Mike Mora of 7 years to cancer, and here’s all we know about it. The singer’s husband shared a post on Instagram 5 years ago in October that he was diagnosed with cancer after having a series of stomach problems.
He wrote “Loss of appetite, pain in my back also started to creep in…finally decided to do something about it. It was a bit late. But just in time.”
“I am posting this, after so much thought,” he said. “Not because I want people to feel bad or sorry for me and my family. I am posting this because life is full of the most unexpected situations. I never thought this could happen to me. At just 36, with 3 kiddos and a wife that loves me. I want to be able to help those that might experience something, maybe, hopefully, by showing that it’s possible to make it through.”

Mora was diagnosed with Stage 4 stomach cancer and decided to share everything in a series of Instagram posts later on. He has been undergoing medical treatment ever since the diagnosis, and we all started to see a silver lining.

His death came as a surprise because Kelis is yet to post anything about it. The news reached people from a post by Evan Ross, legendary singer Diana Ross’s son. He captioned a black and white photo of Mike Mora:
“We lost a brother Yesterday. We will truly miss you, Mike. Thinking of some of the great times we all spent together. You and @naztokio recording me at @dallasaustins studio in Atlanta. First time I had ever really recorded a record in the studio. You made it feel easy and safe.”
He added:
“Everything I saw you do. Was built in passion. I loved connecting again with you. Hearing about your children and the life you and your wife have built. I’m sending all the prayers and love to your family brother. @kelis RIP @mikemorafoto.”
Kelis Mora has not released an official statement about her husband’s death. We can do nothing but pray for strength for the family to pass through this.
