It’s very unfortunate that this new generation don’t seem to value the gift life as generation prior did. Very popular Lousiana rapper, NBA Youngboy, doesn’t seem to have much hope for the future. In an iMessage conversation shared to rapper/producer Khris James’ Instagram Stories on Thursday (May 19), the Baton Rouge native revealed he’s anticipating jail time or death “very soon.”
“Lol bitch I’m headed to a cell or the grave very soon I wouldn’t give a fuck what her or who thought,” NBA YoungBoy wrote in the text. “‘Murder me’ I wish the best for all y’all hoes and n-ggas.”
NBA Youngboy is no stranger to a dangerous lifestyle. He also has recent history in jail, having been released in October 2021 following a March 2021 arrest as one of 16 people hit with gun and drug possession charges. While enjoying an uber successful music career, it’s ironic that Youngboy frequently finds himself on the wrong end on the law. The rapper boasts over 100 songs that have been certified gold or platinum by the RIAA.
However, this success obviously doesn’t stop him from feeling like he is destined for jail or an early grave. According to YouTuber DJ Akademiks, the rapper turned down a $25 million dollar offer from his current label, Atlantic Records.
NBA Youngboy says NO to Millions!
Youngboy has been very vocal in the past about his distaste for the label. He claims the label cost him the #1 spot on Billboard for his COLORS project.
“Why black ball me I’m the good guy !!!??” he wrote in February. “I was going #1 two weeks straight with a mixtape so they took it down off the charts. I don’t give a fuck you still can’t stop me don’t sign to Atlantic if you a artist they not gone support you especially if you live a certain way.”
He also told other artists not to sign with the label: “Don’t sign to Atlantic. Trust me,” the rapper wrote on social media.
