6ix9ine: “Ima Quit Rapping This Year”

Either 6ix9ine is trolling, or his rap career is coming to an end in 2018. On Sunday, April 8, 6ix9ine posted a picture to his Instagram account that shows him posing for a picture in the middle of the street. The caption of the photo reads “Waiting for someone to rob me. .. Ima quit rapping this year. I accomplished everything i dreamed of in 5 months.”

There’s no telling how much truth there is to his statement, but given his track record, it wouldn’t be surprising if 6ix9ine was simply trying to stir s**t up. Back in January, 6ix9ine posted a photo of himself signing a document with a caption that read, “Right now I’m signing my life away to illuminati for 7.5 million dollars. Life is awesome.”

Shortly after that post, 6ix9ine stirred the pot again when he posted a picture of himself posing with Birdman and Young Thug with the caption “Just signed to Birdman RICHGANG 15 million February 23rd ‼”. The claim was refuted by XXL after they allegedly learned from a Cash Money Records rep that 6ix9ine did not actually sign a deal with Birdman. Still, 6ix9ine was able to sneak in his tape’s release date in the caption of the picture, which got over 593,000 likes.

In another post, he makes another false claim which seemed to be for comedic value more than anything else. In the picture, 6ix9ine poses with fellow rapper Bad Bunny with the caption “He told me there’s no other Spanish kid holding it down for us in the rap game. I don’t think he knows I’m Jewish.” We hope y’all know that’s a joke.

While 6ix9ine’s latest post teasing retirement could likely be create a buzz around his name, there’s a chance he may have another motive. In a now deleted post, 6ix9ine let the world know of his upcoming court date. The post was made on April 9, but was quickly taken down within a couple hours. His retirement post could be something he might use to his advantage if the judge sees his rap career as something that could be held against him.

Even though he deleted the post, a clip of an Instagram Live session can be seen on the DJ Akademiks’ account. You can read up on 6ix9ine’s current legal situation here. Stay tuned for more 6ix9ine updates.
