The Louisville, Kentucky native, rapper Jack Harlow, sees his latest single debuted at #1 on this week’s Hot 100 chart. The song ‘First Class’ not only sits atop the Billboard Hot 100, it also boasts the biggest sales and streaming week of the year so far.
The viral TikTok hit earned over 420,000 sales in its opening week, coupled with 54.6 million streams. First Class is the biggest streaming debut since Drake, Future and Young Thug‘s “Way 2 Sexy” last September.
This isn’t quite Jack’s first trip to the top of the Hot 100. His first song to debut atop the chart was last year’s “Industry Baby” collaboration with Lil Nas X, which has since been certified 4x platinum.
Generation Now
Jack Harlow is signed to DJ Drama’s Generation Now label. The same label that introduced the world Lil Uzi Vert years ago. Dj Drama has a been ear for talent as you can see with these two major success stories. DJ Drama also just won a Grammy for Rap Album of the Year. He added his Gangster Grillz mixtape-esque formula to Tyler The Creator’s 6th album “Call Me If You Get Lost and picked up the award.
“First Class” is set to land on Jack Harlow‘s upcoming sophomore album Come Home The Kids Miss You, due May 6. The project also includes the previously released “Nail Tech,” which debuted at No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 and prompted Kanye West to put Harlow in his Top 5. “This n-gga can raaaaaaap bro,” Ye wrote on Instagram while sharing a screenshot of the Nail Tech video in February. “And I’m saying n-gga as a compliment Top 5 out right now.”
Will be interesting to see Harlow’s career play out!
