Following a recent liver transplant from a Black American, a white 65-year-old man named Semen Gendler now thinks he’s black. He claims that his skin is growing darker and is denying the theory that it’s just a tan and has avoided the sun since his surgery.

Gendler, who was diagnosed with Hepatitis C and Cancer, was told he would not live unless he received a new liver. After a successful transplant, Gendler and his friends began to notice his skin changing an becoming darker. Thankfully he’s not a racist or upset with the change in his skin, which technically we think is caused by his body adjusting to the new organ considering the liver detoxifies various metabolites. Regardless on whether or not his claim is true or not, he’s just thankful to be alive.

I could end up much darker than this, to be honest. I don’t care. The main thing is the liver works and I am healthy,” he said. “It’s incredible, I am now so full of energy and living between two cities… if my skin ends up dark, who cares? I certainly don’t.

We’re happy to hear that Semen Gendler is doing well. Word on whether or not he looks like Westley Snipes has gotten darker, is TBD, but we’ll keep you posted if he does.
